The Beretta 96 A1 is a semi-automatic pistol that was designed by Beretta in Italy, chambered with .40 S&W ammunition. It’s a simple blowback with a single or double action trigger mechanism.. The mag release button is placed in the left side of the grip, located between the grip retaining screws. The frame is made of aluminum alloy. Slide and barrel are either made of carbon steel or stainless steel. The Beretta 96A1 has an integral Picatinny rail on which users can quite easily mount a variety of tactical accessories-such as tactical lights, aiming devices or even both. Additionally, the front sight is dovetail-mounted, meaning that it’s adjustable for windage and can be easily replaced with an accessory front sight of the user’s choice. With the 96A1, the hard-hitting .40 S&W comes back stronger than ever in the 90-series lineup.The model was designed for self-defense and therefore can be carry comfortable, with high rate of concealment. It’s fitted with a frame-mounted, thumb-operated sear-locking safety system, that blocks the slide. It can be applied with the hammer fully down or cocked. The hammer has a half-cock safety system.
