In one of those grueling tests in particular, the only two companies whose guns were able to complete the test were Beretta and Sig Sauer, with Beretta coming out on top. Regardless as to how you feel about the Beretta 92FS design, the gun has proven itself in the heat of battle many times and continues to do just that. Now, the oldest gun manufacturer in the world has added a new twist on what has become an old favorite for many. Enter the Beretta 92A1 and the 96A1.
The Beretta 96A1 is a Semi-Automatic and Short Recoil Operated pistol that shoots .40 S&W ammunition. With a maximum capacity of 17 rounds, the Beretta 96A1 holds significantly more than most other pistols of the same caliber. Beretta suggests a retail price of $690, about average for a .40 S&W pistol.
I am Highly considering buying a 96a1. It would be my first hammer fired pistol. what do you guys think? not going to be a carry but hopfully fun to shoot? any negatives with this gun?
